I was Samson.

To survive, I needed to learn how to live like David.

So, you realized you couldn’t do it on your own. You couldn’t hide your secrets anymore. You disclosed every detail of your real life to someone else and for the first time in your life you felt free, really free.

Funny, though, not everyone was as happy about your new start as you were. Maybe your wife became angrier than before. Maybe some of your friends pulled away. Perhaps you lost your job or your position at church or your role as a community leader.

What now?

The 12-Steppers call the initial euphoria of coming clean “the pink cloud.” What happens when the pink cloud disappears? What happens when a lifelong struggle is replaced by challenges of a different kind?

During “After the Miracle: Living a Life of Positive Sobriety”, Samson Society founder Nate Larkin, his Silas, songwriter David Hampton, plus Aaron Porter, Newton Dominey, and Mark Whitlock from the Pirate Monk Podcast will help you discover:

  • Why your relationship with your Heavenly Father matters
  • The unexpected consequences of changing your life
  • What to do when you stumble, fall, or screw up again
  • How to understand your emotions
  • Specific collaboration strategies that will make your recovery stronger

You’ll also have plenty of time for personal reflection and wrestling about the issues with men facing the same struggles as you do.

“After the Miracle” isn’t a men’s retreat; it’s a refuge for men who want to live fully alive.

We are hosting “After the Miracle” at Bear Trap Ranch—a rustic and historic refuge tucked in the Pikes Range in Colorado. You’ll find beauty, peacefulness, and adventure throughout the 30 acres of hills and Aspen trees. Bear Trap Ranch cooks great food and offers comfortable beds.

Registration is now open. As of 6/11/16, 48 spots remain. Register today.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

“After the Miracle” is a national conference so men from all across the US will be attending. Each man is responsible for driving to Bear Trap Ranch or providing his own air transportation to Colorado Springs or Denver and then ground transportation to Bear Trap Ranch.

At this time, we are working on assembling a group of Samson Society Pirate Monks to provide shuttle service from both Colorado Springs and Denver airports, but we don’t have any details yet. Please email if you would like to be updated on the potential of ride sharing.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?

  • A warm sleeping bag and pillow
  • Hiking clothing
  • Light jacket for cool nights
  • An open mind
  • The courage to be honest

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Please email with your questions.
